PhD student at CNRS and UHEI
About me
I graduated from Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi, India with a B.Sc. (Honours) degree in Chemistry in 2020, followed by a master’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India in 2023. I did my master’s thesis project on the synthesis of biodegradable polymers, titled “Role of Zn (II) compounds containing unsymmetrical phenoxy-imine ligands for the ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of rac-lactide”. My increasing interest and the fact that this research has a huge impact, significance, and application in the development of a greener and more sustainable world, helped me in decision-making and selecting this field for pursuing my doctoral research.
Along with my master’s thesis, I also did projects that were dedicated to the synthesis of various chiral ligands to introduce chirality in our metal-ligand framework facilitating the tacticity of the polymers, synthesis of Group 13 metal precursors, and their respective metal-ligand compounds, which we further investigated for their catalytic efficiency in lactide polymerization and CO2 copolymerization using various strained epoxides (CHO & PO).
The D-Carbonize project at the University of Rennes (France) and the University of Heidelberg (Germany) has given me a huge opportunity to work in such a prominent research environment. I also highly look forward to the industrial experience offered under this project as a secondment at Total Energies. Also working collaboratively would be great in building a strong interdisciplinary network and contributing towards the pride and honour of the research community.
