About me
I earned full scholarships for both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Isfahan University of Technology, graduating with distinction from both programs. During my undergraduate studies, I focused on developing a Polyaniline/sulfonated-covalent organic polymer nanocomposite for wastewater treatment, which sparked my passion for environmental protection through scientific research. For my Master’s degree, I joined the Heterogeneous Catalyst group to study the selective oxidation of biomass-derived 5-Hydroxymethylfurfural to 2,5-Furandicarboxylic acid, a promising eco-friendly plastic monomer. Additionally, I explored theoretical chemistry using Density Functional Theory computations to investigate factors enhancing the photocatalytic activity of Graphitic Carbon Nitride (g-C3N4) after metal cluster decoration.
After completing my Master’s, I broadened my research scope during a year-long internship at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST) in Japan. At OIST, I focused on synthesizing transition metal complexes as homogeneous catalysts, gaining invaluable international experience that enhanced both my professional skills and cultural understanding. Finally, my curiosity about the industrial approach to polymer chemistry and biomass utilization led me to join Isfahan Copolymer Company, where I focused on developing and investigating the production of Ethoxylated and Propoxylated polymers, non-ionic surfactants, and Polyurethane foams.
The D-Carbonize project is a collaborative effort across esteemed European institutions that aims to advance sustainable technologies and promises both foundational and practical research experience crucial for my growth as a proficient scientist in green chemistry. Given my interest in interdisciplinary research, I appreciate the project’s collaborative approach. I see great potential in sustainable chemistry, and I am thrilled to contribute to this field during my PhD as a committed member of the D-Carbonize team.
