NATALIA KULBACKA
PhD student at ICIQ and CNRS
About me
I graduated from the Warsaw University of Technology with both Bachelor (2020) and Master of Science in Engineering degree in chemical technology (2021) in the specialization of Functional Polymer, Electroactive and High Energetic Materials. During my studies I was working in the Team of Biomaterials and Polymers for Biomedical Applications, focusing on the synthesis of polycations with potentially antibacterial properties. In my undergraduate studies I obtained the library of rigid amphiphilic polymers having an extensive hydrophilic group and in my Master Thesis I worked on the synthesis of new polycations containing an additional hydroxyl group.
Alongside my studies, I was working as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Organic Chemistry Polish Academy of Sciences, where I was involved in the National Agency for Academic Exchange project, planning, redesigning, and performing syntheses in accordance with the research profile of my group, which were e.g., cyclophane and polycyclic aromatic compounds derivatives or building blocks for optoelectronic materials.
I was also working as a chemical researcher at the developing start-up, designing solutions to optimize lab work and technology for production and purification of Omega-3 unsaturated fatty acids from marine microalgae.
As a life-long lover of chemistry and an enthusiast of engaging in a scientific career I was excited to see an opening for a PhD candidate position at this project, as sustainability is the things that engages and contents me the most in a scientific and working meaning. I am looking for new opportunities to acquire advanced research skills on chemistry development and to progress as a creative and interdisciplinary researcher.
