D-Carbonize holds progress meeting to review research efforts and project coordination

On April 11, 2025, the D-Carbonize consortium came together for an online Progress Meeting to share research updates, check in on project milestones and discuss future steps.

The meeting began with a short welcome from Arjan Kleij, followed by a full morning of individual presentations from all twelve Doctoral Candidates (DCs). Each researcher had 20 minutes to present their current work, followed by brief Q&A and feedback from the wider team. This provided a good opportunity for everyone to see how the different parts of the project are developing.

After the lunch break, the afternoon session brought together the Supervisory Board members and the ICIQ Management Team. This session focused on project coordination, reviewing progress against our goals and handling administrative updates. It was also a chance to make sure everyone remains aligned as we move forward.

With this meeting completed, the team is now ready to continue developing their research, as the time to move to their second institution and begin their secondments approaches for many of the DCs.

At the same time, everyone is looking ahead to the D-Carbonize School, taking place from 8 to 12 September at the University of Liège—a full week combining project-specific sessions with a conference-style program, offering valuable opportunities to keep learning, networking and sharing results.
